Annotation:  TexProtects is an advocacy organization that prioritizes the prevention of child abuse as important for all citizens of Texas.  TexProtects grew out of the advocacy effort of the Child Abuse Prevention Advocacy Commission (CAPAC), a Dallas based umbrella group organized specifically to advocate for strengthening the existing Child Protective Services systems, especially in the North Texas Region Individuals as well as corporations can join this organization and become informed regarding legislative issues in Texas.  Some statistics and child abuse facts are provided for the reader.

Annotation:  Founded in 1985, Texans Care for Children is a non-partisan advocacy network that publicizes facts and brings awareness to current legislation and laws regarding children and families.  In February of 2005, Texans Care for Children sponsored a Children’s Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Austin, Texas.  This is one of the activities that Texans Cares for Children conducts to bring greater awareness of the effects of child abuse to those creating laws in Texas.  Information on how to become an advocate for children and families is available at this site and can be used by anyone who wants to learn more about becoming involved in child abuse prevention.
